Chapter 468 Christmas Banquet
Chapter 468 Christmas Banquet
Why was Draco so eager to leave the relatively safe campus at Christmas?
Because Theodore said he would go.
After Draco was strictly forbidden from returning by his father, Theodore did indeed resist all external pressure and attend the Christmas party at Riddle Manor.
After realizing and admitting that he had made his decision too late, Theodore always managed to resist the pressure, and this time he naturally became Della's companion.
Whether Della has a male companion at a banquet is actually optional. No one will look at her with pity, like a wallflower. It would be a pity if she wasn't invited. Her beauty goes without saying, and her strength and status have reached the point where she can do whatever she wants.
However, just as mentioned earlier, Theodore made up his mind and withstood the pressure repeatedly, so Della handed him her hand.
This was also to give Sheena face and prevent her from having any troublemakers, inconsiderate behavior, or negative reputation at the banquet. Della was meticulous when it came to politeness.
To match the festive atmosphere, Della wore a dark green dress today, with a light fishtail hem and gold thread embellishments to accentuate her lines and make her figure look even more graceful.
Theodore's clothes were conventional, a classic black tuxedo, but with a subtle touch: gold thread, the same as on Della's dress, adorned the cuffs and waist.
From a distance, they look quite well-matched. In fact, the little touches on their clothes could easily be described as "tender and affectionate."
“I’m so glad you came,” Sheena, the host of the banquet, greeted them first. “Thank you so much for always supporting me, Della.”
“We’re family, no need for formalities,” Della greeted her skillfully. “By the way, where’s Maggie? Why are you here alone?”
“He hadn’t seen his friend from France in a long time and they were catching up, so I stepped aside to let them chat more,” Sheena explained with a smile.
"Oh, that's good. Otherwise, I wouldn't have let him off the hook. How could I leave my beautiful fiancée here alone?" Della nodded and made a joke.
As she spoke, Sheena's gaze lingered on Theodore several times. She carefully examined the boy, whose face, though unfamiliar, was undoubtedly that of a promising young man, and then smiled and said, "And this is? You and he are dressed very well together."
Theodore, who had been secretly observing Sheena, a Muggle, was greatly pleased by the word 'suitable,' and a wider smile appeared on his usually aloof face. "I am Theodore Nott, madam, just call me Theodore."
lady?
Della's gaze swept over Sheena's immediately flushed face, then she glanced at Theodore with a half-smile, only to realize that this cold-faced boy was actually quite adept at charming people.
Sheena is now content with love, but humans are inherently insatiable. When Maggie shows her affection and presents the possibility of a better future, she will naturally seek external validation.
At this point, a simple "Madam" would be very thoughtful, offering blessings for their love and compliments for their future.
After politely saying goodbye to Sheena, who was even happier after being coaxed, Della took Theodore's arm and led him to the dining table. As she looked at the rows of bottles of wine of different colors on the table, she turned her head and chatted with Theodore.
"You're quite the conversationalist, Theodore. You've brought the happiest smile to today's host."
"And will this make you smile, Della?" Theodore said with a slight smile, in a gentlemanly manner.
“Believe me, you did it,” Della chuckled softly, “especially since you’re interesting.”
“Then can I have more opportunities to show off my fun side?” Theodore, who knew Della didn’t drink often, held out his hand. “The first dance is about to begin.”
“Then I must add one more thing that can make me smile,” Della said, looking into Theodore’s sincere dark eyes. She raised her chin slightly and slowly placed her hand on his. “You’re very good at pushing your luck, Theodore.”
“As long as it makes you laugh, I don’t think it’s a bad thing, Della.”
Theodore's smile widened, and as he and Della walked hand in hand, he boldly pulled Della's hand in a half-circle motion, passionately completing a waist-embracing dance with her.
Della, who was not good at sports, was slightly stunned by this series of movements. Looking at Theodore's face, which was suddenly so close to hers, she was not shy. Instead, she bent her knees forward first, forcing Theodore to start dancing.
“You’ve really grown bolder today, Theodore,” Della said as she jumped.
Upon hearing this, Theodore deliberately retreated further in his backward dance steps, and when he was closer to Della, he smiled smugly, "After all, today, I am absolutely the only one."
