Chapter 289: Kreacher the House-Elf

Chapter 289: Kreacher the House-Elf

"Mom!" Ginny suddenly shouted at the dining table.

Molly ran into the kitchen upon hearing the noise, and saw a house-elf crawling out from under a large boiler in a cupboard.

It was almost naked except for a dirty rag around its waist.

His head was bald, with a few white hairs growing between his two big ears.

"You bunch of wimps!" The house-elf's voice was very hoarse and low, "What did you do to the mistress!"

"Kreacher, go back quickly!" Molly chased after Kreacher who was wandering around in the kitchen, trying to stuff it back into the cupboard.

Although Kreacher was bent over, he muttered to his knees, "Get out of my mistress's room with the blood-traitor Weasley and that mudblood..."

"I don't allow you to call anyone 'blood traitor' and 'mudblood'!" Sirius roared as he rushed down the stairs, pointing his finger at Kreacher's pig-like nose.

"Yes, Master." Kreacher bent even lower, but there was still no respect on his face.

Afro noticed that as Kreacher moved, a flash of silver light passed across his neck.

I think it is Slytherin's treasure - the locket.

"That's the Horcrux on his neck." Tom snorted coldly at the house-elf who seemed to be groveling.

He had no idea why such an important Horcrux would end up in the possession of a house-elf.

"What's that hanging around your neck?" Afro asked without any hesitation.

Kreacher looked up at her suddenly, his tennis ball-sized eyes filled with shock.

Everyone focused their attention on the bowing elf, and Afro saw Kreacher's lips moving silently, as if he was saying some forbidden insulting words.

"Kreacher, take it out." Sirius ordered in a calm voice.

Kreacher bowed once more, then quickly straightened up, "Yes, Master."

Kreacher pulled out a long necklace from his collar, with a small locket-like pendant hanging from the necklace.

Sirius pulled it over and looked at it carefully. The object looked very familiar. Just as he was about to ask, Kreacher suddenly rushed to the fireplace.

"Kreacher was wrong! Kreacher disobeyed his orders!"

It took the poker that stood in front of the fireplace. Sirius reacted instinctively and threw Kreacher to the ground, pinning him down.

"Kreacher, I order you not to move!"

Kreacher really stopped struggling and lay motionless on the ground, tears streaming from under his loose eyelids.

"Kreacher, you must tell the truth now." Afro squatted beside it and subconsciously wanted to wipe its tears, but Fred stopped her.

Sirius snorted and shook the necklace in his hand, "Kreacher, I want to know the truth."

After a moment of silence, Kreacher took a breath of air, his bony chest rising and falling, and then there was a blood-curdling scream.

"The box, Master Regulus' box! Kreacher was wrong." It panted and babbled, tears running down its nose and into its opening and closing mouth.

When Sirius heard the name that seemed hidden in time, endless and complicated thoughts surged in his heart.

"What does the box have to do with Regulus, and why? Where did it come from? Kreacher, tell me everything you know!"

Sirius grabbed Kreacher's collar, put his angry face in front of it, and asked a bunch of questions.

Kreacher just kept crying and kept repeating that he was wrong, and said nothing else.

"Kreacher!" Sirius raised his voice. He was eager to know what the pendant had to do with his good brother.

Regulus is a follower of the mysterious man!

The pendant must be very important.

"Sirius, calm down!" Afro pressed on his shoulders, and together with Molly helped Kreacher sit up again.

"Kreacher, can you tell us everything about Regulus?" She looked at the house-elf and said gently and calmly.

Kreacher sat up and curled himself into a ball, his tearful face buried between his knees, his voice muffled.

But it was still very clear in the quiet kitchen where no one was talking.
