Chapter 633: The Trouble Can Wait
Chapter 633: The Trouble Can Wait
Garion stood in front of the three tied-up assassins and crossed his arms.
Atlas floated beside his shoulder with a smug grin, still invisible to everyone except Garion.
Garion looked down at the assassins. "Alright. Wake up."
Atlas snapped his fingers.
SNAP!
A small burst of cold energy splashed across the three assassins’ faces.
The three of them jolted awake at the same time.
"Ugh!"
"What the hell?!"
"Where am I?!"
The leader quickly realized they were still tied together with heavy training chains. His face immediately darkened.
Garion looked at them calmly. "Good. You’re awake."
The first assassin raised his head and stared at Garion.
The moment he looked at him, his eyes widened as he recognized Garion as their target.
Garion narrowed his eyes. "Who are you people?"
Instead of answering, the assassin suddenly became angry. "You!"
Garion blinked. "Me?"
The assassin gritted his teeth. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Garion’s face went blank. "Huh?"
The assassin struggled against the chains, his face filled with rage and humiliation. "Who the hell builds a base on this kind of crazy planet?!"
The second assassin shouted, "Not only that, you turned the whole place into a trap house!"
The third assassin’s face twitched as he remembered last night’s torture. "Gravity traps, wind traps, mud pits, freezing pools, training sleds... what kind of damn base is this?!"
Garion slowly turned his head toward Atlas.
Atlas gave him a bright, innocent grin.
Garion stared at him for a second, then ignored him and looked back at the assassins. "What the hell do you mean by that, huh?"
The leader froze slightly.
Garion pointed at the ground. "This is my territory."
Then he pointed at the three of them. "You’re the intruders."
His eyebrow twitched. "So why the hell are you the ones getting angry?"
The three assassins paused.
Garion spread his hands. "It should be me who’s angry, not you. Are you crazy?"
For a moment, the training field became strangely silent.
The first assassin’s face turned ugly. "Damn it..."
The leader suddenly exchanged glances with the other two.
Their eyes sharpened at the same time, and in an instant, their bodies began to release dark energy.
Garion’s eyes narrowed. "Oh?"
The chains around them started to shake.
The leader roared, "Move!"
But before the three assassins could burst out with their full power, Garion raised one hand.
The air above them twisted.
BOOM!
A terrifying gravity pressure slammed down.
The three assassins were crushed flat against the ground in an instant, their faces pressed into the dirt. Their energy collapsed before it could even rise again.
Garion walked closer and looked down at them with cold eyes. "Now answer me."
His voice became heavier. "Who the hell are you guys?"
The leader’s eyes trembled.
For a second, fear appeared in his gaze.
Then, suddenly, his expression changed.
Garion noticed it immediately. "Wait..."
The bodies of the three assassins lit up with strange black-red marks.
Atlas’s eyes narrowed.
[Oh.]
Garion’s expression changed. "Damn..."
BOOOOOOM!
The three assassins exploded at the same time.
A violent burst of dark energy spread outward, but Garion immediately pressed one hand down.
Gravity folded around the explosion, crushing most of the impact into the ground.
Dust and smoke rose into the air.
When everything settled, only a deep scorched pit remained where the assassins had been.
Garion stared at the empty pit.
His face darkened. "What the hell is this?"
Atlas floated beside him and shrugged.
[They’re assassins.]
Garion slowly looked at him.
Atlas continued calmly.
[Of course they dared to kill themselves. Assassins usually have failsafe marks, poison seals, soul bombs, memory locks, or other annoying things like that.]
Garion clicked his tongue. "You could’ve warned me earlier."
Atlas raised both hands.
[I thought you knew.]
Garion’s mouth twitched. "I’m a gym owner, not an assassin expert."
Atlas nodded seriously.
[Fair point.]
Garion looked back at the scorched pit and frowned. "So someone sent assassins after me, and now the assassins are dead before I could ask anything."
Atlas floated silently for a moment.
Then he smiled.
[Well, at least the base defense test was successful.]
Garion stared at him.
Atlas smiled wider.
Garion sighed. "Damn it..."
He looked at the scorched pit for a few more seconds before waving his hand casually. "Forget it."
Atlas blinked.
[Forget it?]
Garion turned around and started walking back toward the base. "Yeah. From the start, I was never afraid of this kind of thing."
Atlas floated after him.
[Someone sent assassins after your head.]
Garion shrugged. "And they failed before I even woke up."
[That is not the point.]
Garion grinned. "It kind of is."
Atlas stared at him silently.
Garion continued, "Besides, if I panic every time someone wants to kill me, how am I supposed to run God Gym? Famous people attract trouble. Strong people attract more trouble. And I’m planning to become both."
Atlas crossed his arms.
[Shameless.]
"Confident," Garion corrected.
Then his expression changed slightly.
He rubbed his chin and looked toward the messy training field. "Anyway, I have something more important to do."
Atlas raised an eyebrow.
[More important than assassins?]
Garion nodded. "Yeah."
He looked at Atlas. "Where is the library?"
Atlas paused.
[Library?]
Garion pointed at his own head. "Usually, anything I think of or create should be perfected in the library, right?"
Atlas stared at him for a second.
Then his tiny eyes narrowed.
[You finally remembered that place?]
Garion coughed. "I was busy."
[Busy sleeping, training people, and making bad business plans?]
"Those are important."
Atlas rolled his eyes.
[Sure.]
Garion ignored him and said, "I already thought of something last night."
Atlas floated in front of him.
[Weapons?]
Garion grinned. "Weapons."
For a moment, Atlas looked thoughtful.
Then he sighed and raised one hand.
[Wait a minute. I’ll construct it for you.]
Garion’s eyes lit up slightly. "You can do that?"
[Of course. The library is already part of the system space and once part of your base.]
Garion smiled wider. "Perfect."
Atlas pointed at him.
[But don’t expect it to do all the thinking for you.]
Garion waved his hand. "Yeah, yeah."
Atlas snapped his fingers.
SNAP!
A silver door slowly appeared in the air.
Behind it, faint shelves, glowing books, floating weapons, and countless moving diagrams could be seen.
Garion stepped forward, his grin becoming sharper. "Come on."
He cracked his neck. "I already thought of something."
