Chapter 1 First Encounter (Part 1)

It hurts so much... When can you let go of all this...? Wouldn't it be better if we left this place together...?

As his body sank into the sea, the blood drained away more quickly due to the seawater. Whether he died from blood loss or suffocation was no longer important; the physical pain paled in comparison to the heartache. Katakuri had already made his choice, hadn't he? Three years ago, my brother Rosinante and I sought medical treatment for Rosinante, which interrupted our mission with the Don Quixote family and also exposed my brother's naval identity. My brother passed away on the island of Minion with a smile, while Rosinante's whereabouts remain unknown.

If I hadn't encountered Jack of the Beasts Pirates a few days before searching for the "Op-Op Fruit," and if I were stronger, I wouldn't have fallen into the sea and been separated from my brother Rosinante and Law. My brother wouldn't have been killed by Doflamingo, I wouldn't have met Katakuri, and I wouldn't have experienced such pain.

That day, snow was falling at sea. The three of them took a small wooden boat to Minnion Island. Everything was going according to plan, but Jack's sudden visit caught everyone off guard.

Rosinante knew that Jack, or more precisely, the Beasts Pirates, were after Yu. Both Rosinante and Yu were adopted by Sengoku and grew up together. Although not related by blood, their bond was stronger than that of siblings. They trained, studied, and sailed the seas under Sengoku's guidance. The only difference was that Rosinante joined the Marines, while Yu did not.

Becoming a navy officer, a pirate, or a revolutionary are all forms of constraint for Yu. She dislikes them; she craves freedom and unrestraint. Ideally, she'd like Sengoku and Rosinante to ditch the navy and roam the seas freely with her. She fears that naval missions might take their lives, as they are Yu's closest and dearest people.

This is why Yu appeared with Rosinante in the Donquixote Family. Sengoku sent Rosinante as an undercover agent because he was afraid Doflamingo wouldn't be able to control him, and Yu didn't feel comfortable letting Rosinante go alone. Having another person meant more security, and his own special abilities were the best guarantee.

But it is precisely because of the uniqueness of this ability that the Beasts Pirates approached Yu.

Yu can control two natural elements, water and wood. Seawater is deadly to those with special abilities, but Yu can control it. It goes without saying that if people knew about Yu's abilities, she would be someone everyone would want.

Jack of the Beasts Pirates must have known this, which is why he came, but how did they know? But now is not the time to think about that; we need to ensure Rosinante and Law escape safely.

Knowing that Jack was after Yu, Yu asked Rosinante to take Rosinante away first, promising to meet him again on Minion Island. She then jumped off the small boat alone and boarded Jack's ship.

"You've got some nerve, daring to board my ship alone!" Jack said disdainfully.

"I don't have many strengths, except that I'm quite bold."

"You're asking for it!" Jack wanted to throw a punch as soon as he heard that.

"Stop, Jack! What are you trying to do to my baby?" The voice from the other end of the Den Den Mushi made Jack's fist stop in mid-air.

"I'm not your baby!"

"Little girl, I really like your abilities. Join our Beasts Pirates!"

"No need, I won't join you."

"Do you want to join another pirate crew? Don't overestimate yourself."

"I won't join any pirate crew!" The small wooden boat was already out of sight; since they were far away, there was no need to linger. "But I will defeat those who stand in my way!"

After saying that, Yu rushed towards the surrounding minions, intending to escape. However, the Beast Pirates had no intention of letting her leave. She had also underestimated the strength of the Beast Pirates. Although she could handle the weaker minions, their sheer numbers put her at a disadvantage, not to mention the presence of Jack, the Beast Pirates' top lieutenant. The two were about the same age, but Jack was far too burly; in comparison, Yu was truly insignificant.

"Jack, play with her, but don't hurt my baby! Little girl, think it over before you answer me." This person seemed very confident in himself.

Under the relentless onslaught of attacks and Jack's relentless pressure, Yu gradually became exhausted and sustained numerous injuries. It seemed that he had reached a dead end and had no choice but to use his abilities to control the seawater to attack the ship.

Seeing that You had slowly stopped and no longer showed any signs of attacking, the people around him did not prepare for another attack.

"Hmph!" In Jack's eyes, Yu's actions were nothing short of surrendering to force, and he looked down on him.

Yu took a deep breath, composed herself, and spread her arms wide, waving them in the air. Immediately, seawater rose around the ship, crashing towards it. The people on deck panicked as the seawater approached. Jack, unwilling to give up, charged at Yu, wanting to strike her to stop the rising water.

Exhausted, Yu was already powerless to fight back. Furthermore, her need to control the seawater left her with no energy to dodge, and she took the full force of the attack, falling into the sea. The surrounding seawater showed no signs of stopping; Yu wasn't good at controlling her abilities and only used them as a last resort.

The situation is now out of control.

The crew on Jack's ship also fell into the sea, just like Yu, so it can be said that the entire crew perished.

Yu escaped, but not completely.

Snow was falling in the winter, and the seawater was unusually cold. Fortunately, she grabbed a plank when she fell in and didn't sink. Yu woke up from the cold, having drifted in the sea for an unknown amount of time, not knowing where she was. Thinking of her promise to her brother, she tried to swim. But she quickly calmed down, knowing it was useless. Unless there was a boat nearby, she was lost and weak, and it would be a certain death.

Just then, the shadow of a ship appeared in the distance.
