"I only did a fortune telling for that boy."
He gave an answer.
The female demon's eyes turned completely black.
"What do you see?"
The female demon stared intently at Crowley.
"The result of the divination?"
Crowley threw the used towel into the trash can.
Chewing sounds immediately came from inside the bucket.
“I didn’t see anything.” He walked toward the door, glancing back at the female demon. “My tarot cards all turned into demon cards when I was doing a reading.”
His tone was apprehensive.
Meg frowned in confusion.
"Is there some force interfering with your divination?!"
She didn't quite believe that claim.
The main reason was that she knew the demon in front of her had a proxy.
"No, no, no, if only it were that simple."
Crowley's hand rested on the doorknob.
"In fact, this is a warning."
talking.
The chubby demon was about to leave.
"Wait a moment!"
The female demon suddenly grabbed his arm. The next second, she was thrown against the wall like a rag doll, an invisible force pressing her firmly against the wallpaper covered with evil spirits bearing the faces of suffering.
"you forgot?"
Crowley's voice suddenly turned unusually cold.
"A regent king is still a king."
His eyes were bloodshot, and his tone was menacing. Meg gurgled, and wisps of smoke began to rise from her skin: "You know perfectly well... there's something hidden beneath this manor."
Just as the female demon was about to say something...
Boom!
The entire manor suddenly shook violently.
The angel's shriek pierced the air like shards of glass scraping against eardrums. The demon Meg struggled to slide down the wall, her skin still smoldering from the intense heat of the attack.
"what happened?!"
She asked in a hoarse voice.
Blood-red fingernails dug into the marble floor.
Crowley did not answer.
"The fun is about to begin."
His obese body pressed against the stained-glass window, his eyes wide and filled with excitement. Outside, the sky was undergoing a terrible distortion—the once azure sky was torn open with a jagged rift, through which golden clouds and scarlet shadows tumbled and intertwined, like the blood vessels of a god being ripped open.
It also seems to imply...
Things that truly exist "in the heavens".
They were about to fall into the mortal realm.
"Stop yelling! Stop!"
at the same time.
In the reception room.
Seeing the angel Manny screaming and howling, Ian patted the transparent cage hard, but his attempt to stop her went unanswered.
"Ahhhhh~"
He was still screaming.
The mouth opened wider and wider.
The tones rose and fell, the sound like the stretched, torn and reassembled voices of hundreds of choir children—a sacred melody mixed with the sticky sounds of flesh writhing.
Outside the window.
A blurry doorway appeared and disappeared, its edges gleaming with an ominous golden light, like a burning wound, slowly opening. The tone of the voice emanating from the Black Angel Manny became even sharper.
He seemed to be chanting some kind of hymn that had become distorted.
Chapter 139 Super Evolution of the Female Warrior! Batman Has Gone Mad!
The sky cracked open.
It wasn't just ordinary dark clouds, nor was it a sign of an impending thunderstorm.
The once azure sky seemed to be torn apart by some invisible force, its surface wreathed in black, pure gold lightning that twisted among the clouds, and an extremely ominous aura permeated the heavens and earth.
It was as if... even the holy light had fallen into corruption.
That was no ordinary lightning; it was something from a higher dimension collapsing and distorting, each flash of crimson and darkness accompanied by a chilling hum.
It was as if the entire universe was trembling.
The air was filled with an aura that did not belong to this world—a scent that was both sacred and blasphemous, both awe-inspiring and nauseating.
Throughout the entire universe, whether it's superhumans on Earth, ghosts in other cosmic realms, or prisoners hidden deep within the Phantom Zone, everyone has sensed this anomaly.
Some people looked up in awe, some knelt down to pray, and some... covered their ears and screamed as they ran away.
Because they heard that song.
A distorted hymn.
"Shut up! You damned angel!" In the reception room, the voice of the bone piano trembled slightly. "Stop singing! I can't take it anymore! I'm being corrupted!"
Its lid opens and closes.
Like the spasms of some creature's mouth, black viscous fluid seeped from the wooden surface. Even though the performance was frantic, the sound of the human bone piano could not drown out the voice of the angel.
It's not just the one making a sharp, popping sound.
As the angels began to chant, everything in the manor seemed to be affected. Ian was terrified and jumped up, rushing from the window towards the transparent crystal cage.
The creature's wings were completely twisted, and wriggling buds grew from the places where its feathers had fallen out, while its several mouths were simultaneously chanting some kind of distorted hymn.
Aberrant Hymns.
Each lyric is like a virus program, running in the real world, modifying the rules, and polluting everything.
"Ahhhhhhh~"
With each word uttered by the angel Manny, the surrounding air distorted slightly, the oil paintings on the walls began to melt, and unsettling solutions seeped from the cracks in the floor.
"This estate is worth far more than a villa. Heaven knows if I can find another one like it. I must protect my sacred property from being violated. You are such a despicable angel who should be locked up in hell to grow cotton!"
Without a word, Ian swung his fist and slammed it into the crystal cage. Punch after punch, while Crowley and the female demon Meg, by the bathroom window, watched the sky with wide, interesting expressions.
"You actually guessed right, the angels... really were affected by that influence?" Meg murmured, her dark pupils reflecting the twisted golden cracks in the sky.
“Never underestimate the arrogance of angels; they think themselves superior.” Crowley didn’t answer her, but narrowed his eyes, a strange smile playing on his lips.
"Go do what you're supposed to do, Meg." It sounded like a command, with an unquestionable air of authority, but the female demon Meg remained unmoved.
"You can't hand over this manor! You know what's buried underground! It's very important to us!" The female demon Meg didn't dare to argue with Ian herself.
She tried to persuade Crowley to change his mind. Whatever Crowley's reasons for handing over the manor, in Meg the devil's eyes, it was definitely not a suitable deal.
"You clearly also..."
Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Crowley's bloodshot eyes.
“I know what you want to do.” Crowley’s tone was calm, yet firm and full of meaning. “But that thing cannot be released by us right now.”
"Perhaps it won't be the case in the future either."
Crowley's voice was deep and authoritative.
As soon as these words came out.
Meg's expression darkened.
“I’m going to tell Lucifer that you’re betraying Hell.” She started to raise the banner, invoking the true master of Hell, but this did not deter Crowley.
Because this was not a decision Crowley made on his own.
"The boss is happy in Los Angeles, and he doesn't want to release anything below right now."
Crowley shrugged indifferently, still pressed against the window, his eyes fixed on the sky, as if unwilling to miss a single second of the change.
“I’ll go ask Lucifer, don’t try to trick me.” Meg’s expression changed in succession, from anger and resentment to confusion… Finally, she snorted coldly and turned to leave.
"You'll regret this, Crowley."
The female demon was still resentful.
Crowley finally turned around.
"Don't even think about sneaking around and causing trouble. If I were you, I would never appear near this manor again. It belongs to that boy. Getting close to it is like getting close to heaven."
The Demon King's wisdom flowed through Crowley's eyes. He hadn't actually made the decision he was making at first. The reason he changed his attitude was entirely because he learned what had happened in the place where the Supreme Witch was imprisoned.
That was a scene he dared not even think about.
"Don't try to scare me."
The female demon Meg scoffed, thinking that Crowley was trying to fool her. She knew all too well the demons' tendency to lie, because she herself was a high-ranking demon skilled at weaving lies.
"Do as you please. I've already been very considerate of our friendship. If you get caught, don't blame me for not warning you—you'll be labeled a 'trash can' if you fall into that boy's hands."
