Just as you were defying the natural order and reshaping the traditions of the Night Elves, a storm was brewing at the Goblin Palace. Harnett and Tina wreaked havoc near the palace, and soon after, a ray-like monster descended upon it. After carefully observing the battlefield, it unleashed a massive spatial turbulence that swept through the entire Goblin Palace.
A week later, you walked out of the auditorium full of energy. After seven days of intense impact, you not only didn't suffer any physical depletion, but your health actually improved!
"However, out of the dozen or so night elves, only three or four are higher beings, so their strength hasn't increased much..." You silently pondered, watching the spatial turbulence sweeping across the night elf territory.
“However, now that the Holy Grail is filled with Titan blood, it's starting to remind me that I need a lot of life energy. Where am I supposed to find that? Even in this simulation, I don't really want Artemis to waste her lifespan…”
Suddenly, Lady Rosette appeared before you. With a strange expression, she said, "You...have done very well. Each of the saintesses' advancements are excellent. However, it seems they can't choose to draw upon life energy for gestation for the time being. Do you know why?"
"I don't know," you said calmly.
"It feels like the developing organ has already been taken over..." Ms. Rosette sighed to herself, then shook her head, looked at you, and asked, "What kind of reward do you want?"
"What can you give me?" you asked curiously, stroking your chin.
"A small piece, the pure will of light." Ms. Rosette rarely showed such a serious expression. "This is the most valuable thing I possess."
Chapter 104 What's wrong with a man being a little more compassionate?
"What is pure will?"
Latis scratched his head, shifting from a plank position to a wall squat, and muttered to himself:
"First a broken container, then a perfect container, and now a pure will. The light of your other world must be really tired. Could there be a broken will or a perfect will in the future?"
He continued looking at the simulated text.
"What is pure will? I'm illiterate, please speak plainly," you shamelessly said.
Lady Rosette's spider legs twitched, her expression shifting slightly. She tucked her legs under her body, lowering herself as if kneeling. You saw a hint of seriousness appear on her usually expressionless face as she spoke to you in a low voice:
"The pure will of light is pure light, without any divine curses or visions."
[How awful, little spider girl! Why does she always say things adults can't understand!]
After stammering and saying "oh" for a while, seeing that Ms. Rosette showed no intention of continuing to explain, you sighed helplessly and said, "Is there anything else?"
After following Ms. Rosette around and looking at a bunch of nonsensical junk, you finally took something from her lap that looked like a ball of marine life flashing with fluorescent light.
Pure Light: It possesses power similar to perfect light, but is purer and contains no subjective will.
[You did consider taking the two female elves with you, but choosing higher-tier items is more cost-effective. Elves outside, no matter how long you keep them, will never be yours. But things that belong to you can be brought into reality.]
In short, you swaggered away from the Night Elf territory, and looking at the still-swirling spatial currents in the wilderness, you couldn't help but chuckle to yourself, "The underground world isn't so bad after all. I've had a really great week... Ahhhhh!"
A powerful jolt made you scream in terror. After a dizzying spin, you were finally thrown out of the chaotic spatial turbulence and fell helplessly... crashing into someone.
"I'm not dead yet... I'm so lucky to be alive..." You sat up, clutching your head, opened your eyes, and stared at the two stunned dark knights for a few seconds.
"Hey, Tina, Harnit, what a coincidence!" You patted your dizzy head and grinned, "Where did you two go on vacation these past few days? Did you have fun?"
The two women looked at each other for a moment. Holnet shook her head, took the shelter off her back, and set it up on the ground. Tina, however, sat down not far from you, hesitated, pointed to where you were sitting, and said:
“We were being chased by this monster-like creature, but it seems you've already killed her by sitting on her…”
[You were startled and quickly stood up. You didn't want to sit on someone and kill them; your sacred buttocks are destined for heaven!]
"I...I'm dead?" The girl in the long black dress clutched her flat chest, which you may have flattened from sitting on it, and opened her eyes in confusion, looking at the dark cave wall.
"You're not dead." Holnet, having set up the shelter, stepped forward, took a magical binding rope from his bag, and skillfully tied the girl up.
The girl stared blankly at the rope wrapped around her arms twenty times, then suddenly snapped out of her daze, jumped up with a flushed face, and shouted, "Foolish, foolish humans, how dare you take the great Celestia... Ah!"
With a thud, the poor girl was ruthlessly dragged into the shelter by Holnet. After a while, Holnet poked his head out and asked, puzzled, "Come in. What are you waiting for?"
You and Tina exchanged a glance and entered the shelter. Holnet removed his helmet, took out earplugs to prevent sand from getting in his ears, and then coldly asked the small, helpless girl hugging her knees, "Are you a goblin, a gnome, or a humanoid monster?"
A flush of embarrassment and anger rose on the girl's pale face. She waved her bound hands and shouted, "Brother, what the hell is a goblin! I am a noble vampire, woman, show some respect!"
"Oh." A hint of curiosity appeared on Holnet's face. "So it's a bat. This is the first time I've seen one since I came underground."
"Aaaaaah, I'm not a bat!" the girl screamed, burying her head in her knees. "I'm really not a bat! I've always looked like this!"
She glanced up at you all, who were still stunned, and muttered, "I was sleeping in the cave, but I sensed the presence of the magic ray a while ago, which is why I woke up..."
[Hollnit pondered for a moment, then smiled and said, "Saria..."]
"Celestea!" The vampire girl slapped her knees hard and said earnestly, "It's the great Celestia Bradfren!"
"Oh." Holnette nodded and said, "Then, Miss Severn..."
"Ahhh! Celestia!" the vampire girl screamed through gritted teeth.
[“Miss Celestia…” “Miss Celestia!” Seeing that something was amiss, you immediately interrupted Holnet, saying hastily, “Let’s skip this long introduction! My name is Latis, her name is Holnet, and this is Tina. Okay, that’s all!”]
After a few seconds of silence, Holnett nodded to you, then looked at Celestia and said:
"Thank you for your remarks, Mr. Lateran. In short, I have a few questions for you..."
You squinted at Holnet, who was asking a serious question, and suddenly felt that staying underground for too long might not be so good.
After a series of very difficult questions, you finally learned that the magical stingray was the administrator of the magic network controlling this area, and the vampire girl in front of you was indeed an innocent bystander, but, how to put it, she deserved it.
"What's wrong? What's wrong!" Celestia shouted, embarrassed and annoyed. "I only pursued you because I like the blood of pure young girls, so don't laugh at me!"
She lunged viciously at Holnet's bare neck, only to be knocked unconscious by a instinctive blow to the stomach from the battle-hardened Dark Knight.
["Uh..." You stare at the vampire with its eyes rolled back and tongue sticking out, lost in deep thought. You wonder if you're even a normal person, and why there are always so many abnormal people around you.]
[Finally, you realized that it was because you were too normal that everyone else seemed abnormal.]
"Anyway, do you know what this is?" You took the Sunlight Ocean Creature Orb out of your pocket and asked the two Dark Knights.
Before the Dark Knight could speak, the unconscious vampire screamed in agony. She sprang to her feet, tears streaming down her face, and cried out, "Ouch! Who did this? Who poured chili water on me?! Help!!"
You stared in disbelief as the rampaging vampire dragged Holnet more than a meter along the rope, then collapsed outside the shelter, sobbing uncontrollably.
"This is...light?" Holnet examined the marine life sphere uncertainly before handing it to Tina. "But it doesn't seem to be the kind of light that a perfect container could contain..."
Tina also sensed it carefully, then shook her head and said, "It feels like the light of the Sanctuary, but a bit heavier and purer. However, compared to the light infused when using the 'Perfect Vessel,' it seems to lack much of its power."
Seeing that they didn't know how to use it either, you regretfully took it back, thinking to yourself, "At worst, I can just give it to Jennifer as a toy."
"So who was it just now?!" The vampire, now recovered, stormed into the sanctuary, angrily demanding, "Who splashed pepper spray on my face? It hurt like hell!"
Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, she started walking around you suspiciously, sniffing here and there, as if trying to find the culprit.
When she reached Holnett from behind, her sinister intentions were finally revealed. She bit down hard on Holnett's neck, letting out a triumphant cry as she began to suck his blood with relish.
However, after swallowing the first mouthful of blood, Celestia's expression suddenly changed, and she instantly collapsed to the ground, clutching her stomach and retching.
After your kind treatment, the vampire, who had been suffering from the torment of the Light Magic, finally couldn't hold back any longer and cried out again, "Giving me pepper water mixed with oil is bad enough, but why do you keep splashing it on me?!"
You remained silent, eventually scouring the entire magic network to find a healing spell to save her.
Not long after, worried about the girls at home, you bid farewell to the Dark Knights. Before leaving, you looked at the vampires they were leading, all wearing collars, and couldn't help but wonder what they were up to.
"Perhaps because she's been cooped up in dark places for too long, she's become very sensitive to the power of light." Holnet maintained her businesslike demeanor, smoothing her greyish-black hair as she put on her helmet and said in a somber tone:
"Simply put, the more she suffers, the closer she gets to the light, which is quite convenient. My perfect vessel is almost complete; hopefully, I can learn the truth about the world from the light next."
[You looked at the vampire's mouth, stuffed full of leaves, and its eyes blinking wildly. After a moment's hesitation, you turned and said goodbye without looking back.]
Stepping out of the nearest exit, you looked at the clear sky and, for some reason, pulled out a piece of paper.
[You wrote on the paper: "The two exits I know of are one under a huge arched banyan tree eighty miles east of the outer city of Lundia, and the other is..." Good bastard, trying to exploit a bug in the simulator? No way!]
After a long and arduous journey, you've successfully returned to Lundia. Reflecting on this shallow underground adventure, you realize you encountered almost no combat. It doesn't seem so dangerous after all!
You return to the front of Herod's Tower, about to push open the door, when suddenly a bead of cold sweat beades on your forehead. You recall the torture you endured before leaving, and suddenly your legs tremble, almost causing you to flee.
"Big brother, you're back?" A half-elf's voice sounded behind you. You swallowed hard and turned to look at the smiling Ateliers. She had already advanced to the sixth ring, which was why she could sense the slightest movement near the mage tower so quickly.
[You were dragged home by the Plant Guardians, sighing and groaning. The scene seemed familiar. Oh, so you were also once bound by a Night Elf! Haha, what a man destined to be bound!]
"No mahjong today!" Yashutia stretched her arms, which were sore from rubbing props all day, looked at the robin who had just come home from Bogu Academy, nodded, then slammed her hand on the table and shouted:
"We have some questions for you!"
"Wow... mighty..." You seemed to hear that voice in your mind. You gasped and looked at the robin and Yashutia sitting beside the half-elf, shouting with your neck stiff, "Bring it on! I'll tell you everything I know!"
[Yashutia was taken aback. Seeing your friendly attitude, she didn't know what to say for a moment. She scratched her head and stammered, "Well, then the little bird will go first."]
The robin stroked the still-new-looking magic engine, head bowed, and whispered almost inaudibly, "Big...Big brother, you..."
"You're so listless!" Yashutia slammed her hand on the table again and shouted, "Can't you hear me! Speak louder!"
"Big, big brother!" The robin lowered her head even further, her voice trembling as she cried out, "Do you...do you like me?"
"Huh?" Your expression slowly turned blank as you looked at the half-elf and Yashutia, who were staring at you with great interest. You gritted your teeth, then gritted them again, and then gritted them once more. Finally, looking at the robin's trembling body, you sighed and said, "I really like it..."
Before you could even relax, Yashutia slammed her hand on the table, pointed at herself, and shouted, "Where's that genius girl book? I've been working hard these past few days! I haven't done anything wrong at all! I'm completely different from before!"
Hearing the barely concealed unease in her words and seeing the charred marks on her hands, you sighed again. Facing the half-elf's piercing gaze, you forced a smile and said, "Of course, I like it too..."
Watching Yashutia slump back into her chair, you wiped your sweat, glanced at the half-elf seated in the center, and thought with relief that your most adorable Art wouldn't torture you like this anymore.
"My question is..." Atelier Fuss fiddled with a freshly picked, vibrant rose in her hand, then suddenly a mischievous smile crept across her face as she cupped her cheeks and asked, "Do you like Jennifer?"
"Oh...?" You looked at the half-elf in shock, instantly breaking out in a cold sweat, as if all the rain from the Spanish plains had suddenly poured down on your forehead.
"Hmm?" The half-elf's azure eyes reflected your disheveled figure, and she finally couldn't hold back her laughter.
Chapter 105 Don't you guys think this bed is a bit narrow?
Latis sat up abruptly from the ground, his face deathly pale.
"Oh no, I'm totally empathizing with this. What kind of human suffering is this? Such cruel torture!"
He wiped the sweat from reading the text, walked to the window, and opened it.
"But perhaps this was inevitable?!"
Latis tried his best to convince himself.
"I just didn't want to watch them fall into tragedy; liking them was just a side effect! Really!"
He looked up at the full moon in the sky and suddenly slapped himself lightly.
"Damn it, if you like it, you like it. Why 'just incidentally'? Are you some kind of gentle male protagonist from an anime? I just like smut by nature, so what?"
Latis shook his head, thought for a moment, and then grinned with his teeth showing:
"Latis, Latis, don't turn into Dong Zhuo! If you really like this, you must first become everyone's most reliable refuge..."
