Lin Ci was slightly taken aback.

Although he knew his father would most likely agree, he didn't expect it to go so smoothly, without even a single extra question.

Xiaoyu listened with her eyes shining, extremely excited.

"What about me? What about me! What do you need me for?!"

Lin Ci turned his head, his gaze falling on Xiao Yu's vibrant face, a mysterious smile curving his lips.

He stared into Xiaoyu's eyes and spoke slowly and deliberately.

"I need your blood."

Chapter 30: The All-New Ghost Legion!

Xiaoyu's body jerked back suddenly, her eyes widening in surprise.

"What! Lin Ci! You've turned into a vampire?!"

She cried out in surprise, like a frightened kitten, and immediately hid behind her father's broad back.

It peeked out with its little head, watching Lin Ci warily.

Lin Ci was both amused and exasperated.

"Perhaps blood is not necessary; your qi will suffice."

Xiaoyu's face was full of confusion.

"My anger?"

Lin Ci's gaze deepened, and he patiently explained.

"Because you have a close relationship with the Saints, I need the Saints' energy."

"Saint Seiya?"

A big question mark appeared above Xiaoyu's head.

"Could it be that Saint Seiya who is full of righteousness?"

The father, who had been silent all along, suddenly let out a sharp glint in his round-framed glasses.

Lin Ci nodded solemnly.

The old man suddenly turned his head to look at Xiaoyu behind him, his tone full of reproach.

"Oh dear! Why didn't you tell your father you were a Saint Seiya sooner!"

Xiaoyu looked completely bewildered and peeked out from behind her father with a wronged expression.

"I do not know either."

The old man finally understood. He looked at Lin Ci again, his eyes filled with understanding.

"So, you need Xiaoyu's energy to help you merge into the Shadow Legion's spell."

Lin Ci's answer was concise and to the point.

"Yes, Dad."

He turned his head, his gaze softening as he looked at Xiaoyu, and extended an invitation.

"Would you be willing to help me, Xiaoyu?"

Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment, but still stepped out from behind her father, her little face showing a resolute determination to go all out.

"I can give you my qi, but as for blood, I can only give you a little bit, because I'm afraid of the pain."

A slight smile bloomed on Lin Ci's face.

"Then I'll thank you, Xiaoyu."

The old man nodded in satisfaction and stopped wasting time.

"In that case, give that spell to Dad."

Lin Ci glanced at the Holy Lord beside him, seemingly casually.

The Holy Lord's soul immediately understood and nodded.

From the shadow beneath his feet, a ghostly ninja silently emerged, respectfully holding the thick encyclopedia of magic in both hands.

The page had been precisely turned to the one containing the fusion spell.

The old man confidently glanced at the ancient characters.

Then he turned around and walked to the shelf in the corner of the study that was filled with bottles and jars, and began to skillfully search for materials.

The air in the study was soon filled with a peculiar scent that was a mixture of herbs and mysterious substances.

The old man successfully concocted a bottle of magical solution that emitted a faint green glow.

The old man placed the solution on the table and looked at Xiaoyu.

"Xiaoyu, next I need to take a wisp of your breath and a drop of your blood."

Xiaoyu had made thorough preparations long ago, without anyone noticing.

With a "thud," she placed a large glass bowl on the table.

The bowl was filled with bright red liquid.

Lin Ci's heart skipped a beat when he saw the huge bowl full of food.

"Are you trying to swear a blood oath? That's unnecessary!"

Xiaoyu rolled her eyes at him.

"What are you talking about? This is just my watermelon juice. The blood you want is right here."

After saying that, she took out a blood collection syringe from her pocket and pointed it at the tip of her index finger.

He closed his eyes and plunged down.

A full drop of blood gushed out instantly.

"Ouch, that really hurts. I need to eat something."

Xiaoyu frowned, sucking her fingers as she picked up the large bowl of watermelon juice on the table and gulped it down in one go.

Lin Ci's eye twitched slightly.

"You're using watermelon juice to replenish your blood?"

Xiaoyu smacked her lips and answered confidently.

"That's right, isn't it said that you are what you eat? Look how red this watermelon juice is, it must be good for replenishing blood!"

The old man interrupted the conversation between the two younger generation members in an annoyed manner.

"Alright, Xiaoyu, I need a sliver of your life now."

He held up two fingers and began to chant an ancient incantation.

A barely perceptible wisp of green energy was slowly drawn out from Xiaoyu's body.

The drop of blood that was hanging on Xiaoyu's fingertip also floated into the air.

The old man's expression became incredibly focused as he began to chant the complex fusion incantation.

He picked up the bottle of green magic solution and poured it evenly over the nine ghost masks in the wooden box.

The nine masks instantly shone brightly, floated up from the box, and slowly rotated in the air.

The old man suddenly increased the speed of his incantation chanting.

Nine dense beams of black light were forcibly torn from the mask and converged in the air.

Dad flicked his finger in the air.

Xiaoyu's drop of blood and her wisp of breath precisely merged into the surging black light.

The black light contracted violently, eventually transforming into a ball of light the size of a fist.

Inside the sphere of light, black and white colors constantly mix, rotate, and merge.

Finally, an ancient and mysterious Tai Chi symbol faintly appeared.

Fine beads of sweat had already formed on the old man's forehead.

His face turned somewhat pale.

The energy required to cast this spell far exceeded his expectations.

My father's body was starting to give out, but he still gritted his teeth and persevered.

He suddenly opened his eyes and let out a loud shout.

The spinning tai chi light sphere transformed into a stream of light, instantly rushing towards Lin Ci and piercing his chest.

The old man's body went limp, and he fell backward, slumping into the chair and panting heavily.

Lin Ci's heart tightened, and he immediately ran to his father's side.

"Dad, are you okay?"

The old man shook his head wearily, but a relieved smile appeared on his face.

"It's alright, I'm just getting old and my energy isn't what it used to be. I'll be fine after a rest."

Xiaoyu looked at her father with a pained expression, her eyes even turning red.

The old man smiled indulgently.

"Are you feeling sorry for your dad?"

Xiaoyu nodded vigorously.

"Then hurry up and make your father a pot of hot tea!"

Upon hearing this, Xiaoyu immediately turned around and ran out of the study to boil water for her father.

Watching Xiaoyu's figure disappear behind the beaded curtain, the old man looked at Lin Ci again, his expression returning to seriousness.

"Alright, give it a try and summon the Shadow Legion."
