Chapter 200 Wedding
Chapter 200 Wedding
Time flew by, and two months passed in a flurry of activity. Emeric's desk was piled high with design drafts, but he felt none of them were quite perfect; he wanted to give Severus the best.
The atmosphere in the cellar was not much different. Severus was still curled up on the sofa reading a book, occasionally glancing at Emeric and finding his troubled look quite amusing.
They couldn't stand living in the principal's office for more than a month. They managed to get Gellert's contact address from Wenda, and the two of them rushed over that night to arrest him and bring him back to continue working as principal.
Severus felt the all-nighter was worthwhile; otherwise, he would be busy reviewing documents instead of eating blueberries and reading essays. Emeric had handled the preparatory work; all he had to do was vote when the decision was made.
"Hmm... I still don't think it's good enough." Emeric tossed the parchment he had just finished writing on aside, buried his head in his hands, and slumped onto the table. Lately, he had been completely absorbed in wedding preparations, and every night when he closed his eyes, he could see all sorts of wedding styles.
"If you don't decide soon, you'll have to wait until summer vacation," Severus added leisurely, laughing as he saw Emeric become even more frantic. Of course, he didn't make a sound, otherwise he'd be carrying a cat soon.
Actually, he thought every scene was good and couldn't find anything wrong with it. If he wasn't afraid of Emerick going crazy, he would have even considered just randomly picking one.
"Severus...do you have any other requests?" Emeric looked at the pile of discarded drafts and had a headache. He hoped the man could give him some ideas or help him filter out some of the material.
"This one." Severus chose a light purple scene with many sunflowers and irises on both sides. He preferred this one to the manuscripts that seemed to be entirely according to his own wishes. It looked like a wedding for the two of them, not just for him alone.
Emeric picked up the parchment. "But... this scene is a bit small, it doesn't seem to have much atmosphere." Mainly, he had no reason to buy a new manor; he could complete the construction using the existing Iris Manor.
"I don't want to walk too much, is that okay?"
"Okay! The designer will be at the manor tomorrow afternoon. We'll go home that afternoon and choose our dresses."
"Sure, how about Dumbledore or Mr. Grindelwald teach in the afternoon? They'd definitely be willing." Severus wasn't hesitant at all; after all, he only had Emeric's spellcasting class tomorrow afternoon, while his potions class was in the morning.
They ultimately chose a white suit, accented with emerald green cufflinks, a light gray shirt underneath, a burgundy tie, and black leather shoes.
After choosing their wedding attire, a series of small matters came their way. From the guest list for the banquet to their travel destinations, and how much leave they needed to take after the wedding, the couple had to deal with these things almost from the moment they opened their eyes.
"I want cake." Severus rubbed his temples, utterly exhausted. He desperately needed some sugar to replenish his energy. Luckily, tomorrow was a holiday, and he could sleep in bed until noon, until he woke up hungry.
"Okay, I'll do it. We'll be free the day after tomorrow." Emeric also looked exhausted. He never imagined that getting married would involve so many things. Unexpected situations arise every day, and now he can only pray to Merlin that nothing like that will happen at the wedding.
With the countdown ending on the last day, all preparations were complete. Severus looked at the engagement ring on his hand, surprised to find that it had to be changed again. Their wedding rings were completely different from the previous ones; they were twin flower rings inspired by irises and sunflowers, with each flower detachable.
Emeric had already decided to wear the iris on his hand and take the sunflower off to make earrings, so that Severus could not force him to take them off to avoid suspicion.

"Severus, Ellie, get up and get dressed. If you don't open the door soon, we'll break in!"
"Darling, I'm coming." Ambrose, afraid of hurting Calvin's hand, waved his wand to open the door.
Sure enough, these two had just fallen asleep from excitement, just like they had back then. Calvin smiled and opened the tightly drawn curtains, letting the sunlight stream in.
"Fufu, bring me a cold towel."
"OK!!!"
"Hiss—" Emeric was woken up by the cold. He barely opened his eyes, reached out to shield his eyes from the glaring sunlight, pulled the blanket over his head, and tried to hug Severus and continue sleeping.
"Get up. Do you still want to get married?"
Upon hearing the word "marriage," Emerick instantly opened his eyes, his mind clearing instantly. He glanced at the time and realized Calvin was right; any later and it would be too late to get dressed.
"Get up by yourself when you wake up. Ambrose and I are going out to socialize."
Once they were alone in the room, Emeric quickly woke up Severus, whom he was wrapped up in. They hadn't been able to sleep all night, and each of them had drunk two glasses of strong liquor before barely passing out.
"Severus, it's time to get up."
Severus had long since lost his guard and didn't realize what day it was until a hot towel was placed on his face, bringing him back to his senses.
The hectic morning passed quickly, and soon they were dressed in their wedding attire, had their hair done, and stood at the wedding venue. A long cobblestone path stretched ahead, lined with their friends. At the end of the path stood Dumbledore, who had been invited to be the officiant.
"It is an honor to be the officiant for the newlyweds." Dumbledore said solemnly, his eyes filled with tenderness as he gazed at the two children.
May you embrace each other in times of joy, stand together in times of difficulty, warm each other with understanding, and protect each other for a lifetime with trust.
"Next, please have the newlyweds exchange rings."
A chubby rabbit carrying a small box hopped in front of them and took the place of the flower girl.
Emeric patted Radish's head and placed the smaller ring on Severus's left ring finger, while simultaneously extending his own left hand, where the silver ring landed on the finger closest to his heart.
"Now, I solemnly announce that you are officially partners. Kiss and embrace!"
Emeric couldn't resist pulling him into his arms. He knew Severus disliked intimacy in front of others, but at this moment he couldn't control himself. Severus also reached out and hugged his back; even the usually composed man couldn't restrain himself.
A gentle breeze swept by, swirling up the pale purple iris petals scattered on the ground, like a soft rain of flowers falling on everyone's shoulders and hair.
