Chapter 308: Getting a Few Bitches to Watch Some Fights
No one could quite understand what had happened to that serpent. It was like the beast was not thinking straight, and that was the main reason they managed to win the fight with only one loss.
But one of the people on the ship’s deck had noticed something about Damian. It was one of the many merchants on the ship.
"I didn’t know you were so powerful, Marcelo," a chubby merchant said after the battle.
Damian showed clear surprise. He moved closer to the chubby merchant so that the two could talk without anyone else listening to it.
"You know, wealthy merchants like us need to have our own strength and not only relay on guards," Damian said, and then he added, "I believe you are not sharing this with anyone. One person dead is enough for the day."
The chubby merchant was not stupid. It understood the threat, and he didn’t look like he wanted to lose his life over that.
"I won’t tell this to anyone, but I think we can help each other in the future. I’ll reach out to you when it’s time," the chubby merchant said, and then he left.
The whole encounter was strange to Damian. A merchant, realizing he was the one messing up with the serpent, was not what he expected. The others from the crew who were good at combat didn’t notice Damian’s movements, yet the chubby merchant did.
’Who is that guy, anyway?’ thought Damian.
Despite the strange encounter, Damian tried to not think too much about it and continue on his journey. The next five days were pretty chill, and for the first time, they had the chance to leave the ship!
The captain called out to everyone.
"We will be staying on this island for three days. Do whatever you want during this time, but remember to come back to the ship before we leave. I won’t wait for you," the captain said.
Damian was happy to finally reach the first island as that meant he would get another room for his friends to live on. It was pretty bad to share it with all of them. The size was just not enough.
The island they were on was called Jinle, and it was the home of most festivals in the archipelago. One of the biggest attractions there was the coliseum. Fighters from different lands went there to try to make a living.
"There will be some fights happening tonight," Damian said to his friends after they left the ship. "Maybe we can go there to watch them?" he proposed.
The rest of his friends were not that excited to go and watch some fights. They had been sharing a room for a lot of time, and all they wanted was some proper rest before going back to the ship.
"I think we might pass this one. We all need to rest," Elena said. "Three days will be enough to recover our energies."
Elrandir, Nessia and Cassia felt the same way. There was nothing that Damian could say to make them go with him, but that didn’t mean it was a problem, either. He was okay with going alone.
"No problem. If you need anything, just look after me. Let’s choose a tavern first."
Damian went with them to get the rooms. He needed to know where everyone would be staying. He had the confidence in finding them if necessary, but knowing it made his life way easier.
They decided to stay at one of the best taverns in the city. The rooms were luxurious, and the place even offered free food — though Damian knew the food was included in the room’s price.
Still, it was a good tavern to stay for the next three days. Everyone went straight to their rooms to rest after spending many days on the ship. Damian, on the other hand, still had the energy to visit some places.
He walked through the crowded streets of Jinle — that was the island’s name and also the city name — and he saw how different the people living there were.
’The culture in the archipelago is way different from what I am used to,’ he thought.
The coliseum would be the show of the night. Everyone on the streets was talking about it, and there were people trying to sell tickets everywhere. Damian didn’t buy the tickets from the people on the streets. He went straight to the coliseum.
A lady was at the entrance selling the tickets. Damian looked at her and smiled. "I want the best spot you still have available."
Money was not a problem for him. The lady looked at him and she could see from his attire — the clothes he stole from the real Marcelo — that he looked quite rich.
"We have a spot in the upper areas. You’ll have free drinks and food too to enjoy the fights tonight. Do you want this spot?" she said.
The lady explained to him where the spot would be. Damian liked it, but he still wanted to know a few more things.
"Is it closed?"
"Yes, sir. This is a closed room dedicated to the rich. The only person inside will be you, and the servers who will come with the food from time to time," the lady explained.
"Can I get some women too? You know, I love a good sex while watching some fights," Damian said.
The lady blinked a few times, trying to understand what she heard. Her cheeks turned red with the question, but she recomposed herself, "Yes, you can bring women there."
Those answers brought a sincere smile to Damian’s face. He paid the price for the room, and then he went to the night house to get some women. The night would be quite entertaining to him, that he was sure of.
The night house had a lot of options. Damian paid higher for three virgins, and then he left the night house with three gorgeous women, going straight to his seat inside the coliseum.
