Chapter 112 Black Gloves Bind Poisonous Arms
Chapter 112 Black Gloves Bind Poisonous Arms
Chapter 113 Black Gloves Bind Poisonous Arms
Picking up where we left off, Salazar claimed to be paying off a debt, which he was referring to as a transaction based on the principle of equilibrium.
Harry asked in surprise, "It's only been an hour or two, and you've already made up your mind, brother?"
"That's right, I want you to find the locket I left behind," Salazar said calmly. "That brat Tom better not have turned it into a Horcrux."
"That's fine. If that scoundrel Voldemort really turns these three relics into Horcruxes, I'll brave mountains of knives and seas of fire to find and destroy them."
"If that Dumbledore wasn't lying, the first relic he found would definitely be my pendant, since it was in the Slytherin common room."
Harry frowned upon hearing this and asked suspiciously, "If I remember correctly, you only knew pure-blood wizards, while Professor Dumbledore is a half-blood. How come you heard us talking?"
"I never said that. I was isolating wizards who were drawn to non-magical worlds. Obviously, Mr. Dumbledore wasn't among them."
Harry pondered for a moment, "What if we treat everyone equally?"
"I can't see."
Enough of this digression. While Harry was recuperating at the school hospital, news of his slaying of the Basilisk in the Chamber of Secrets had already spread throughout the school.
Upon hearing that the highway robber had been eliminated, the students were as if their cages had been overturned, and they all banged on plates and spoons, running around and playing happily.
Three to five hundred male and female students wanted to visit Harry, but they were stopped by Madam Pomfrey in the corridor and only received various offerings piled up like a mountain of gifts.
Aside from Dumbledore, who came daily to cast spells on her arm, and Scrimgeour, who asked questions, even her two brothers, Ron and Hermione, were kept out of the room by Madam Pomfrey and not allowed to see them.
"Break off entanglements."
"Going against the current"
At his bedside, Dumbledore cast a few more spells to repel snake venom and said, "Harry, shall we try again?"
Upon hearing this, Harry spread his fingers and pulled a tin box from the mountain. With a slight exertion, veins bulged on his arm, and streaks of black blood flowed from the veins into his palm, like a black dragon spitting ink.
The iron box made a strange creaking sound, and suddenly three feet of black smoke shot up, turning the poisonous claw into rusty residue.
Seeing this, Lady Pomfrey said with delight, "The reversal spell really works! Now the only part that's oozing poison is the hands."
Harry flicked his hand, and the bruise on his fingertip flowed back into his veins.
"Damn it! I only regret that I arrived late that day, and my arm was completely soaked in poison."
"Relax, Harry. At least your arm is okay now, right?"
Dumbledore laughed and said, "So all we have to do now is deal with your left hand."
After saying that, he took a black glove from his pocket and handed it to Harry, saying, "This glove can neutralize most foreign substances—whether it's basilisk venom or magic."
"However, when facing sharp or hard objects, it's just an ordinary glove."
Harry saw that the glove was as black as charcoal, and when he shone it under the lamp, it seemed to swallow all the light, leaving no trace of color. He knew then that this was no ordinary item.
He put on the gloves and tightened his arms. He saw black blood surging from his veins and flowing straight to his fingertips.
The gloves were completely poisoned, yet remained unbroken. When they were removed, the inside was also perfectly intact.
Harry was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Where did you get such a wonderful treasure, Professor?"
"I got this from an old friend in the Department of Mysteries, and I think no one is more suitable for it than you."
Harry shook his hand and laughed, "Now that I'm wearing these gloves, I can say I'm cured."
"Now that you're fully recovered, shall we go have lunch?" Dumbledore pointed to the clock on the wall. "It's lunchtime now."
"The professor is absolutely right; that's exactly what I was thinking."
Having said that, he went straight to the side room to change his clothes.
After changing his robes and putting away his wand, he was about to take out his ring knife when he remembered that the knife had been destroyed by the Killing Curse.
He sighed to himself, "What a waste of such a fine knife."
After everything was settled, Harry and Dumbledore went to the Great Hall for their meal.
When Harry arrived, he pushed open the doors of the Great Hall, and hundreds of eyes turned to him, instantly silencing everyone.
"Our Lion King is back!"
George's shout was like a ladle of snow water being poured into a hot oil pan, instantly causing a crackling and boiling sound.
The students shouted, threw down their plates and cutlery, kicked over benches, and surged forward like a tidal wave.
Ron and Hermione were the quickest to react; one rushed forward and hugged Harry tightly, while the other carefully examined his arms.
"Harry! You're finally back! I was so worried about you!"
Seeing the hall in complete chaos, with several students nearly breaking Dumbledore's bones in their struggles, he quickly grabbed his wand and cast a megaphone spell, which calmed everyone down and allowed them to return to their seats.
Fred and George carried Harry back to Gryffindor, where the students all came forward to drink with him.
"Thank you, Harry, you are a hero of Hogwarts."
"Well done, Potter."
"Killing the Basilisk in your second year, you are absolutely the first in Hogwarts history."
Harry ate with everyone, then excused himself that his wound hadn't healed, and everyone finally stopped.
"How did it go, Harry? Did you see the mysterious man?" Ron asked excitedly. "Did you kill him? What did Malfoy say to his master?"
Hermione remained silent, examining Harry's left arm. Suddenly, she frowned and grabbed his hand.
"When did you start wearing gloves?"
"Elder sister, don't move around, or you'll lose your life."
Harry explained the matter of the left arm to the two men, who were horrified upon hearing it.
"Is it incurable forever?"
"Will I have to wear this glove for the rest of my life?"
Harry waved his hand and asked, "Do my sister and brothers know anything about those two Malfoys?"
Thinking about it, Ron said resentfully, "Ha! Those two guys were really lucky. Can you believe it? They were actually released by the Ministry of Magic!"
"The Ministry of Magic believes Draco has been bewitched by dark magic items!"
"That's right, and all the students you expelled from Slytherin have now been reinstated."
Hermione curled her lip. "They all say they were bewitched, just like the Death Eaters said after Varian fell."
Harry asked doubtfully, "If that's the case, does that mean the Ministry of Magic acknowledges that Voldemort is still alive?"
"No, they say it was the work of a vengeful spirit." Hermione sighed. "Since the dark magic artifact wasn't found, many things have to be left unresolved."
Ron nodded in agreement, "Otherwise, we could have sent those two Malfoys to Azkaban."
Harry whispered to the two women, "Eldest sister, don't make a sound. The diary isn't missing; it's in my hands now, being turned into some kind of useless treasure."
