Chapter 14 The Aloof and Cool School Beauty Senior
Chapter 14 The Aloof and Cool School Beauty Senior
So you're saying you don't get points for receiving gifts?
Lorne sullenly tucked the green leaf into his pocket and turned to walk back towards where his classmates had dispersed.
The scenery along the way is beautiful, with white stone buildings scattered in a well-organized manner. Gothic spires and Roman arches intertwine, and in the distance there are waterfalls and springs, with petals falling like rain. It feels like entering a fairyland.
Lorne felt refreshed and took a deep breath. He felt relaxed all over, his pores were opening up, and he felt much more energetic. He looked around in surprise.
"The spiritual energy here is so dense?"
When his spiritual root had just awakened, he could only vaguely sense the magic in the air, as if through a thin veil.
Now that we've arrived at Silver Academy, the surrounding magic seems to come alive, drilling straight into our bodies, which gives you an idea of how high the concentration of magic here is.
This place truly lives up to its reputation as a great immortal sect; it must be considered a blessed land!
Okay, let's go collect the college badge that Professor Sylvie mentioned first.
He hadn't gone far when he saw a long queue ahead.
The new students were lining up here, and from their conversation, I learned that this was where they would receive their college badges.
A massive, imposing figure stands out prominently in the foreground.
"Big brother! Over here!"
The giant boy Thormont waved his hand fiercely at Lorne, his huge voice like thunder, shaking all directions and instantly suppressing all other sounds, drawing countless gazes.
Lorne instantly retracted his stride, made a smooth turn, and disappeared from his sight.
The giant boy was left alone, looking around in bewilderment.
……
After a long while, when everyone had mostly dispersed, Lorne finally came out.
Looking up, I saw a dashing silver-haired girl wearing a soft hat emerge from under a high wall covered with blooming wisteria and roses.
The moment she saw Lorne, this dashing young woman swung a powerful Jiamusi-style sledgehammer at him:
"You despicable brat, do you even know how embarrassed Tormont was just now!"
Lorne grinned, "Aren't you the same?"
He had clearly seen that the moment Thormont shouted, the guy darted away like a rabbit, leaving the giant boy alone, bewildered in the wind.
The two clowns exchanged a few words before heading to the badge distribution area.
The person in charge of distributing the badges was a senior student. She wore a white dress, had long, ice-blue hair that reached her waist, a beautiful face, and an indifferent look in her eyes, like the unmelted snow on a mountaintop.
She sat quietly behind the table, seemingly shrouded in a thin mist, out of place with the surrounding noise, a beautiful and aloof woman.
"I know her. She's Cecilia from the Thunder Academy. She's already a third-year novice mage. She comes from the famous Norland family, a family with very few members, but who produce genius thunder mages generation after generation. It's said that many people in the academy admire her," Viola whispered.
Why is everyone from a magical family? When will we ordinary geniuses ever get our chance?
Lorne carefully examined the senior student. She wore a white dress and had icy hair. Her eyebrows and eyes were like a painting. She was indeed flawless. However, she had an aura that kept people at a distance. Even mosquitoes would probably stay away from her.
"You're smitten, buddy?" Viola squinted her eyes.
"Our families have some connections. Want me to help you make the connection?"
Lorne nodded: "Okay, okay."
"Dream on!" Viola snapped instantly.
The line moved slowly forward, and when it was their turn, Cecilia raised her cool, clear eyes: "Name."
Her voice is a bit different from her appearance; it's soft and sweet.
"Viola".
"Lorne".
When Cecilia heard Viola's name, her expression softened slightly. She nodded gently as a greeting, then took out two silver badges from under the table, tapped them lightly with her fingertips, and handed them over.
"Your information is inside the badge. It contains your identification, dormitory key, and academic credit record. Don't lose it."
Viola, knowing herself to be forgetful, immediately asked:
"What if I lose it?"
"It costs ten credits to reissue it," said Cecilia, a senior student, with a serious expression.
Viola was taken aback and carefully put it away.
Lorne asked curiously:
Are academic credits really that valuable?
It sounds like these credits aren't just tied to degrees, but can also serve as currency for the college.
"Of course!" Cecilia looked up at him, seemingly surprised that someone would ask such a silly question.
"You need to earn 100 credits in your first year to advance to the second year."
She answered succinctly, "The same applies to other academic years. Each academic year is worth 100 credits, and you need 300 credits to graduate."
Three hundred credits!
Lorne frowned, remembering that his graduation requirement was 450 credits, which was half again as much as the normal requirement!
If you include the fifty credits he got from Senior Cat, he'll need five hundred credits to graduate!
Damn, that's almost twice the number of normal graduates!
"So, senior, is it difficult to get credits?" he asked tentatively.
Cecilia didn't speak, sparing with her words, but simply nodded slightly.
The upperclassmen who were helping Cecilia seemed unfazed by her aloof demeanor, and added with a smile:
"Junior, it's not easy to earn credits. We can only get a maximum of fifty credits per academic year by relying on our daily coursework. The other half can only be earned by practicing potion mixing, forging magical items, and taking on quests. This is a special training program that the academy puts us through."
"If you don't complete the required credits due to mistakes, laziness, or other reasons, even if your magical skills have reached the next stage, you will have to repeat the year. Only after you complete the required credits next year can you receive the next stage of magical instruction. Many students in the school have repeated a year, and the longest is said to have been studying abroad for ten years without graduating."
You can only get fifty points for attending regular classes!
Lorne suddenly felt a blackout before his eyes.
No wonder the cat senior looked like that before. It turns out that losing a hundred credits is equivalent to him working for nothing for a year, and he might even have to repeat a year.
This means he earns an extra 100 credits per academic year on average, which is twice as many as other students!
He could almost foresee that he would either be drained of credits or repeat a year.
Oh, perhaps it's possible to have both...
Seeing Lorne's worried expression, Viola asked with concern:
"Young man, why have you suddenly become melancholy?"
Lorne, expressionless, went over the requirements for the special talent credits.
After listening, Viola paused for a moment, then patted his shoulder sympathetically:
"You can practice how to call out to Senior Viola beforehand."
Lorne remained silent, but quietly took out the green leaf that Professor Sylvie had given him earlier.
Following her instructions, we placed it on the academy badge. The next second, the emerald green leaf slowly merged into the silver badge, and a small green leaf pattern appeared in the lower right corner of the emblem representing the academy.
"What is this?" Viola asked curiously as she leaned closer.
"Professor Sylvie gave it to me, saying I could go to her greenhouse," Lorne said sullenly.
No sooner had he finished speaking than a soft gasp of surprise rang out from the side:
"The key to Sylvie's greenhouse?"
Looking up, a pair of clear, cold eyes were filled with surprise as they stared straight at Lorne.
