Chapter 124: R'lyeh
"Get lost! Don't give me that crap!"
Lockes pulled out a chair and sat down, his movements so forceful it was as if he wanted to shove the chair legs into the floor.
He glanced first at his father, who had once again passed out drunk and was asleep on the table, before turning his gaze back to Oro's face. The fire burning in his eyes had not diminished at all despite his earlier restraint.
"Don't think I don't know what you're thinking!"
Lox snarled, each word seeming to be squeezed out from between his teeth: "You ignored all my warnings back in Elbaf, didn't you! Just how far have you gone?!"
Oro put down his wine glass, the amber liquid inside swirling.
He looked at Lockes' face, which was taut with anger, and deliberately spread his hands slowly, putting on an innocent expression.
"Young people shouldn't be so hot-tempered."
Auro spoke, and the lecturing tone in his voice made Lox's temple throb again: "It's still early. I haven't even gone into R'lyeh yet."
Although he was mentally prepared, when Auro uttered the words "R'lyeh," Lox still felt as if his heart had been squeezed by a hand.
He clenched his fists involuntarily, and the veins on the back of his hands bulged out.
That's all.
Beneath his angry expression lay a stern expression, one that even outweighed his previous humiliation: "Unless you intend to destroy the world. If so, then I have nothing more to hold back!"
He leaned forward, his eyes fixed on Oro: "I'll take you down with me right now, you bastard!"
"Oh my, oh my, that's really something."
Auro looked at Lox with astonishment: "Are you so sure that the abyss city beneath this island is enough to destroy the world?"
He picked up the flask, poured himself another glass of wine, and said unhurriedly, "David Jones couldn't even handle Im, and he wants to handle the world?"
"This warning was given by Davy Jones himself before he died!"
Locke's voice suddenly rose, only to be forcibly suppressed again.
His eyes were wide open, his pupils reflecting Oro's face, a face that he hated to the core.
If his gaze could materialize, he would have torn that damned blondie to pieces long ago.
"You bastard, can't you even listen to human language?!"
Lockes gritted his teeth, each word sounding like it was being ground from the depths of his throat: "I told you long ago! What's sealed there now is a demon that's taken over Davy Jones's body!"
"It's a demon! Not something you can just take and play with!"
Auro looked at Lox and suddenly laughed. He raised his right hand, snapped his fingers, and shrugged.
The large, golden chair behind him began to writhe and deform, and a black panel slowly emerged from the gold.
It was wrapped in gold, supported by gold, and then steadily handed to Oro's hands.
Oro took the black board and ran his fingers along its smooth edge.
He held the black clay tablet and waved it in Lox's direction.
"Do you know what this is?" Oro asked.
Lox frowned, his gaze falling on the board in Oro's hand.
He could sense the ominous aura emanating from that board, like an ancient corpse buried underground for thousands of years, which made one's heart tremble just by looking at it.
"I don't care what you are!"
Rocks said this, but his eyes never left the board: "You either get out of God Valley right now! Or—"
"It is a half-demon contract kept by Joey Boy and his D clan."
Auro interrupted Rocks directly.
This statement had an effect comparable to an explosion on Mary Geoise, instantly making Lox's head buzz.
His expression froze at that moment, and all the complex emotions in his heart, mainly anger, were abruptly suppressed by the immense shock.
Locke stared intently at the black board in Oro's hand, his eyes bulging out of their sockets.
Time seemed to slow down.
Rocks could hear his own heartbeat, fast and heavy, pounding against his chest.
He could even hear the scraping sound between the gaps in the guards' armor outside the door.
But all the sounds gradually became distant and indistinct.
In the end, only that black board remained clearly visible in his world.
Devil's Contract.
half.
It was kept by Joey Boyle's faction.
These words churned, collided, and combined in his mind, then exploded, revealing more questions, more shock, and more—unbelievable.
"Tsk."
Auro frowned slightly in disdain: "Could you please stop making that face?"
"To be honest, it's a bit disgusting to be looked at like that by a grown man."
Lox didn't react; he kept staring at the board, his eyes unfocused, as if his soul had left his body.
Oro raised his eyebrows, waited two seconds, and seeing that Lockes was still the same, he shrugged and then threw the black mud tablet in his hand upwards.
The board traced an arc in the air, its black surface gleaming with a dull luster under the light.
Lox was genuinely startled by Oro's throw. The instant the board was airborne, he lost control of his strength and slammed his right hand down on the table.
"Click—"
The luxurious solid wood table was instantly shattered.
"Ouch!"
A scream rang out; it was Old Man Rocks' voice.
Old Man Locke, who was sleeping on the table, fell right off the table and landed hard on his butt, letting out a painful scream.
With a wave of his right hand, the black mud tablet that was falling in the air was immediately covered with a layer of gold and then flew steadily back into his hand.
Old Man Rocks sat on the ground, rubbing his bottom with one hand and his eyes with the other, his face a mixture of confusion and pain.
He looked around, at the shattered table, then at Lox sitting in the chair and Oro standing opposite him; his mind was clearly not yet fully sober.
"W-What happened?!"
The old man mumbled, his voice indistinct: "Where's the table? Where's my wine?!"
Oro walked over to his father, squatted down, and reached out to help the old man up.
"Brother, it's alright."
Oro softened his voice: "The table was old and collapsed on its own. You slipped and fell just now, so I had the guards take you to rest."
He turned and called out towards the door, "Someone come here."
T
The door was immediately pushed open, and the two armored royal guards strode in. Ignoring the mess in the hall, they went straight to Oro and helped Old Man Rox up on either side.
