Chapter 13 We've All Been Sold Out
Chapter 13 We've All Been Sold Out
"What's going on? Where did they come from?"
Emily stared in panic at the sudden influx of enemies, completely bewildered.
"Well, it seems someone betrayed you."
Qin Wuying shook the handcuffs on his hands helplessly and revealed the truth.
"Could it be that pilot? I noticed something was off about him a while ago!" Cliff gritted his teeth. He had actually noticed the abnormality, but he just thought the pilot was too nervous, so he didn't think much of it.
"Tap tap tap tap tap!"
A burst of gunfire rang out, and the leader of the Ten Commandments gang fired a burst of bullets into the air.
"Hurry up and finish your last words so I can kill you and go back to report!"
What should they do now? Emily and Cliff looked around anxiously.
On one hand, there's the task of dealing with Qin Wuying; on the other hand, there's the task of finding the security department traitor who provided the intelligence.
Clearly, the latter is more important.
"Quick, run! I'll handle these guys!"
Cliff shouted at Emily, then activated the mask and bulletproof armor on his exoskeleton, completely covering himself.
"No! If we're going to die, we'll die together!"
Emily also switched to combat mode, and the two stood back to back, refusing to compromise with the Ten Rings.
"I said, you all have protection, what am I supposed to do?"
Qin Wuying's lips twitched as he looked at the situation before him.
He is currently unable to use magic to protect himself, and once the fighting begins, he doesn't know which side's bullet will penetrate him.
"Who cares about you anyway? You were going to die anyway!"
"What the heck? No way?" Qin Wuying looked around and quickly crawled under the table.
"Fire! Fire!"
At the leader's command, rifles opened fire from all directions, the bullets striking the exoskeleton with crisp "ping" and "bang" sounds.
"Die, oh my god!" Cliff opened the folding light machine gun hanging on his waist and fired fiercely at the enemy on his right.
In an instant, nearly half of the bandits fell to the ground.
Emily, not to be outdone on the left, used the rollers on her feet and the assault rifles on her arms to glide and fight back.
"Quick, find cover!"
The leader of the gang rushed ahead to a large metal box.
Then the Ten Rings members used cover to continuously harass Cliff and Emily with fire, forcing them to keep firing in order to achieve suppressive fire.
After several dozen seconds of this firefight, both sides had run out of ammunition.
"Their weapons are no longer effective, charge!"
Someone in the gang shouted this, and the members jumped over the cover and rushed forward.
However, Stark Industries' excellent exoskeleton armor design cannot be limited to only long-range combat capabilities.
The most important reason for the use of this exoskeleton is the significant enhancement of the user's strength and speed.
Five or six members of the Ten Rings pounced on Cliff, but Cliff only needed to use his arms and legs to throw them away.
Emily's exoskeleton is relatively lightweight, and she is taking on five opponents at once, showcasing her skills as a secret agent.
"Damn, this thing is so sturdy, it's impossible to break it no matter what I do."
As for Qin Wuying, he was crouching under a table, unnoticed by anyone on the battlefield.
He braced one foot against the table leg, hooked the handcuffs onto another table leg, and tried to pry them open.
The people around them had already switched from firearms to melee weapons—
Qin Wuying is still in the primitive era where his power is sealed.
The Ten Commandments gang members were unable to capture the two agents for a long time, which made the leader of the bandits watching the battle a little anxious. He took out a small iron ball from his pocket.
The iron ball glowed red, and its internal currents were intertwined, making it appear somewhat unstable.
"Looks like we'll have to use this. What a pity."
Without hesitation, the leader of the gang mustered all his strength and hurled the iron ball toward the center of the battle where Cliff and Emily were.
This is a newly acquired classified weapon, specifically designed to counter Stark Industries' exoskeleton armor.
Once the iron ball touches a solid object, it will automatically detonate, generating a powerful electric current.
The electric current is enough to destroy the exoskeleton's systems, rendering it completely inoperable.
As the iron ball flew slowly toward the agent, the leader of the gangsters' lips curled into a smile.
Although some Ten Commandments members were within the blast radius, the leaders considered such sacrifices insignificant in order to achieve their goal.
Just then, a dark figure appeared out of nowhere, blocking the path between the iron ball and Cliff—
It was Qin Wuying who crawled out from under the table and leaped high into the air.
"Has this guy gone mad?!"
Qin Wuying gently touched the iron ball with the joint of the handcuffs—
"Boom—!"
A massive tremor was immediately triggered in the air, and a powerful electric current spread outwards.
The leader of the gang had no time to react and was thrown back by the shockwave, falling to the ground on his back.
What happened?!
In an instant, the two agents and the Ten Rings members who were still fighting all looked up at the place where the explosion occurred.
"Hello, where are you looking?"
"Uh, it looks like there was an explosion over there... Ahhh?"
One of the bandits had just finished answering when he realized that no one could possibly talk to him in this situation.
The next second, he was thrown out by Qin Wuying behind him using magic.
"Stop standing there, hurry up and get rid of the rest!" Qin Wuying gave the order to Cliff and Emily, who were still standing there dumbfounded.
The two agents nodded as if by some strange coincidence, indicating their agreement.
Faced with Qin Wuying's infinitely short-distance teleportation, the members of the Ten Commandments Gang were completely helpless and were soon wiped out.
At this moment, an armored vehicle resembling a Hummer was parked outside the cave.
The bandit leader, who awoke during the battle, saw that things were going badly and took advantage of the chaos to sneak out.
This vehicle was a pre-prepared escape vehicle.
"Hurry, run! Run as far as you can! The operation has failed!"
"No problem, where are we going?"
"Hmm? Something doesn't sound right?" The thug glanced at the driver's seat, his heart nearly leaping out of his chest.
"Don't you want to leave? Or are you going to cooperate obediently?"
Qin Wuying, in the driver's seat, waved to the leader of the bandits and said with a forced smile.
"Alright, let's figure this out."
Qin Wuying stepped back into the cave with light steps, using her magic to lift the leader of the bandits by the collar.
"Put...put me down."
"Okay, I'll put you down. Behave yourself."
With a slight loosening of his grip, the bandit slammed onto the table with a "thud!"
Cliff and Emily quickly stepped forward and used the ropes they had in their backpacks to tie the thugs up securely.
"Now that we've gone this far, you should understand, right?"
Qin Wuying brushed the dust off his body and picked up a small fragment of the iron ball.
"We can't fully trust you yet, but we'll reassess."
Cliff frowned; things had taken a far more unexpected turn of events than he had anticipated.
Because Rhodes told him that intelligence had already revealed that the cave had been abandoned for a long time and there was no way the Ten Rings would be active there.
But now, they are not only besieged by the Ten Rings, but the other side also possesses the latest research results known only to Stark's core members.
Who exactly leaked the secret operation?
