Chapter 117 Sharing a Dorm Room with a First-Year Student
Chapter 117 Sharing a Dorm Room with a First-Year Student
After dinner, we followed the main group of Slytherins back to the Slytherin common room.
As I was getting ready to go back to my dorm, the Slytherin prefect came over and found me.
“Ayles Hall, take these guys with you back to the dorm.” The prefect walked over with Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott, and Blaise Zabini.
"No, are the three of them sharing a dorm room with me?" I was surprised myself. Three people moved into my private dorm room this year, and they were all freshmen?
"Yes, it was the headmaster who instructed them to have the three of them share a room with you." The Slytherin prefect didn't know what was going on either. Usually, students from different years wouldn't share a room, but this year it seemed to be an arrangement from above, letting Ayers live with these three first-year students.
"Okay, I'll go ask the dean what's going on later." I sighed and rubbed my forehead. Who caused this mess? The three of them are sharing a dorm room with me and they're really restricting my freedom.
"What? Doesn't Ayers want to live with us?" Blaise Zabini asked me jokingly.
"I used to live alone, so I had a lot of private space. Now that there are a few of you guys here, I feel a little uncomfortable." I feel like the "always-available" room on the eighth floor might become my regular place in the future.
"Should we ask the Dean to switch rooms?" Draco Malfoy didn't want to force anyone. If Ayers didn't want to share a room with them, he could ask Severus Snape to switch.
"No need, I'm just not used to it. After all, I had my own dorm room for the past two years. You guys can come with me." How could I refuse the platinum young master? So what if I have a few more roommates? It will make it easier for me to get to know Draco.
“Sigh~ Nott, I think senior is looking down on the two of us.” Blaise Zabini patted Theodor Nott on the shoulder and said.
“I don’t think you’re that kind of person, senior.” This time, Theodore Nott finally spoke up.
"We're here, come in." We walked until we reached the dormitory, and I opened the door for the three of them to come in.
Draco Malfoy and the others looked around the room with curiosity.
"No need to look around, I'm not hiding anything." I sat on my bed with a smile and started taking my luggage out of my backpack to organize it.
"Senior Ayers, you have so many books here."
Even the taciturn Theodore Nott was stunned; my dorm room actually has three bookshelves, filled with books.
"Those are the ones I left over from before. You can take them if you want to read them." I could tell that Theodore Nott was also a book lover.
"Wow, this cat tree is amazing!" Blaise Zabini noticed the giant cat tree I had prepared for Mingyue; it was designed to fill the entire dorm room.
"Yes, this is what I made for Mingyue." I pointed to the cat bed on my bed, where Mingyue was still sleeping soundly.
"There's also a complete potion-making setup here." Draco Malfoy was surprised to find two cabinets tucked away in a corner, one filled with potions and the other with potion-making materials.
"Oh, you can use the materials freely, but don't take the finished products. Some of them are my test samples, and you don't know their uses. I'm afraid you might hurt yourselves." I said as I put the tidied clothes into my wardrobe.
“Senior, I’ve noticed you know a lot.” Blaise Zabini had noticed; my bookshelf really does have all sorts of books.
"Hmm~ In a few days, you'll see that I know more than you imagine." This isn't me bragging; I'm going to ask the teachers for a exemption from homework again.
Since we already knew each other when we went to Malfoy Castle, we skipped the introductions and just washed up and went to sleep. The first day was really tiring for the new students.
I woke up right on time again, sat up, and ran my fingers through my messy hair.
He picked up the clothes he had left on the bed last night, put them on, put on his gold-rimmed glasses, opened the bed curtains, and hooked them up.
Just then, I saw a hand sticking out from the bed on the right.
"I woke you up," I said softly, seeing Theodore Nott still half asleep.
"No, I just woke up." Theodore Nott was still groggy, but my hushed question woke him up a bit.
"Sleep a little longer, class isn't this early. Oh, and before you leave the Slytherin common room, remember to check the bulletin board. It has your class schedule and the password to enter the common room." I put on my shoes and tiptoed toward the washroom.
"Okay, senior." Theodore Nott thought that since he was awake, he might as well get up. He really didn't expect me to get up so early.
"Theodore, what time is it?" Draco Malfoy, who was on the left side of my bed, was also woken up by the two of us. He asked Theodore Nott, yawning.
“It’s only six in the morning,” Theodore Nott whispered to Draco Malfoy.
"Is it still so early? I'll sleep a little longer, wake me up later." Draco Malfoy groggily pulled his head back into sleep.
"You should go get some sleep too. I can set the alarm for you." After washing up, I came back and straightened my tie and hair in front of the mirror.
"No need, senior. I'm awake now. I'll get up." Theodore Nott was already planning to get up.
"Alright then, I'll head out first. Remember to get up and don't be late." I tidied myself up and left the dormitory, heading towards the hall/auditorium.
When I walked into the hall, there was no one there, so I turned around and walked towards the kitchen.
"Good morning, Mumu. I'm bothering you again." I took some trinkets I brought back from France from my backpack and handed them to Mumu.
"Thank you, Ayers, I really like it." Mumu was so moved that she almost cried.
"Could I have some dumplings? I'm a little hungry." Ever since I gave Mumu an Eastern cookbook, I haven't cooked for myself anymore.
"Okay, please wait a moment." Mumu treasured the gift very much and carefully put it away.
There are two tables in the kitchen specifically for the little wizards to eat at. I'm sitting at one of them now, waiting for Mumu to cook something delicious.
"Here you are, Ayers, it's ready." Half an hour later, Mumu brought me a bowl of dumplings and also prepared chopsticks and a spoon for me.
"Thank you, Mumu." I took it and put it on the table.
"Ayers, I've made a lot. Should I leave a bowl for the other guys, like before?" Mumu always makes sure to prepare a portion for the other guys she's trying to woo whenever I order breakfast.
"Yes, thank you, Mumu." I smiled and thanked Mumu.
"You're welcome. I'll go do other things now. Please enjoy your meal."
After Mumu finished speaking, she left and didn't disturb my meal any longer.
